Not a happy Bunny!!!!

Can you kind people let me know your thoughts on this? Am I right to be vvvvvvvvv upset>

I took a RRS out for a test drive all of 3 miles and put down a deposit (July 16th) based upon them allowing me a car for a day/morning so my wife could drive it and feel comfortable in it prior to me paying over £30k!! (she will be the primary driver)
I was away last weekend (17th-22nd) and made the salesman aware of this and requested he put together a finance package and use of a car so we could finalise the deal on my return. Anyway this took him over a week (23rd) and he told me they had no cars that i could take out without himself in the car.
To cut a long story short I called yesterday to confirm my wife could come and test drive the car and was told the sales man I was dealing with was off but come in and see us. When I arrive expecting them to allow my wife a test drive and to sign the deal I was told "sorry the car is sold"!! Censored

How can a franchise dealer sell a car I have a deposit on and not even call to tell me?

I am currently awaiting a call from the sales manager but this really has left a bitter taste in my mouth about purchasing a RRS, Its a shame but I have never had any problems with BMW of which I have owned for years. I was thinking of buying an X5 prior to the RRS and may well do so now>

Will a letter/call to Land Rover UK do me any good? Where do I stand?

Unacceptable! Remember if you had pulled out of the deal they would have kept your deposit. The very least I would expect is the repayment of your deposit plus the same amount as compensation! This happened to me about 3 years ago. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

that is unacceptable!!!!

Artful - this is a crap dealer, not LR - they dont deserve your custom at all. Go to another dealer who cares about you as a customer

Not to belittle what has happened, but let's not forget this is poor customer service by the dealer, not Land Rover themselves. The easiest way to deal with this is get your deposit back off the dealer and show your displeasure by simply going to another dealer. Might I suggest you speak with our forum sponsor Charles Hurst Park Royal... Thumbs Up

AD,

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, and as mentioned it is probably down to that particular Sales Executive or the dealer as opposed to the brand. Most dealerships will look after you professionally and make sure that you enjoy the buying experience.

I would make the Sales Manager aware (as he may not know of your situation) and take your business elsewhere...............

On that note, if we can be of assistance then please feel free to let me know. You can call 0208 992 2299 or email jamestayler@charleshurstgroup.co.uk, and please don't be embarassed by introducing yourself to reception by your forum name as they are well used to it!!!

Again, sorry to hear about your experience.

James Thumbs Up

Our receptionists do have a chuckle when they put certain forum members through....... I once had a call from someone who was Very Annoyed, and it turned out that they were actually quite nice! Whistle

When Jay call's me it doesn't get the same impact though.
