I thought BMW retained ownership to all Rover brands.. e.g. Rover, Austin, Healey etc.

IIRC when Phoenix bought Rover they actually just bought the factories and the right to license to the name Rover. BMW were quite astute by keeping the brand rights. Happy to stand corrected if I am wrong.
