Sapkan The reports are about right I am getting about 11 or 12 from my WHITE!!!! SC, My friend gets about 8 from his but must admit (you will be the same) we do drive them hard. You just can't help yourself you always need to hear the Super Charger whine. Good luck with your future purchase. |

I think the best overall consumption quoted by an SC owner on here is about 18mpg (RRUK?) on long motorway journeys. While this doesn't sound SO bad... it's the urban cycle that kills you. 10-12mpg is really par for the course there. You really have to think carefully about how much a car like that is going to cost you in petrol...

I've had my S/C since last september and 90% of the 5000miles covered have been around town - it has been the winter months as well - so cold engine starts & when I go home cold again. The car hardly warms up on its day to day journey. ie leave home - drop son off at school - continue to work..... this is in total approx 2 miles. I may pop out at lunch - anothe 2 or 3 miles - then pick son up from school & go home - anothe few miles - so may only do 10 or so miles a day. But all week it is short / cold trips.

I drive about 20 000 to 30 000km per year so I will have to think hard about this one. 22 to 26l per 100km in city mode, its quite a heavy drinker. There just isnt any other 4x4 that I like as much as I do the Rangie. Why did they have to make it so heavy (2600kg!!!)? I would prefer 300-400kg less with less offroad ability.

They were talking about this bioethanol business on the radio when I was coming home. There's two cars in all of the UK market that can be spec'd with these flexi-fuel engines (Saab 95 and the Focus) and the fuel (if you can find it) is only 2p per litre cheaper than std unleaded! So, I ask... what's the point of that?
