I suppose at the end of the day if you disagree with it, don't do it... but people are chasing for the unfair levy of bank charges and there is now case law that supports doing it. There's always the "well, don't go overdrawn in the first place then!" point of view... but if there's a loophole to be exploited then people will always exploit them. Look at the life of the contractor before IR35 and MSC legislation came along.... Big Cry

Steve... i think you and me are on the same wavelength.. however what shmoogle has also said above tells the other side of the argument.

Personally i don't have anything live which i can put through (wish i did to be honest..) but the losses the banks will make, will definitely be passed onto the rest of us in increased rates /fees etc, so as i said before.. if your not benefitting from it, you'll be funding it.. i think there will be a 12 months or so window for this, then the law will change for which you can claim against and the banks will tighten all the regulations up even further.. so more trouble ahead i guess..

Just in case i wasn't very clear before, as we're getting quite a good response on this so far:
The deal has to be £25k or under and regulated to be looked at.

Cheers
