One other thing that made a difference for me when I was shopping LCD vs. Plasma was that the Plasmas seemed to reflect more of the light in the room. Very noticeable when you look at them in certain big box stores with large lights overhead. If you ever watch TV in a room with lots of windows with the shades open, lights on, etc., it’s something else to think about. Having said all that, I will definitely admit, I do still think the colors on a really nice Plasma just seem to “pop” a little more than those on an LCD. I believe Plasma may typically have a slightly wider viewing angle as well?

Also very much agree with what Kaine said, a lot of times it comes down to personal preference. Get something that looks good to you, is a name you trust, hook it up to good source content, and you should be happy.

I beleive that after the latest edition of Pioneer Kuro plasmas that Pioneer will not be manufacturing their own plasma, but will be using someone else's though still with the pioneer logo.

So I'm assuming they are moving to LCD.

Presently I'm very happy with my 43" Pioneer plasma and although I'd now like a 50" screen I can't really justify the change given that the gear is changing faster than I can keep up with. Perhaps in a couple of years in our next house when the techy stuff has settled down a little. Bow down TDV6 - gone

or wait for OMED to commercialize.
(I think Samsung is testing for 7" now.)
I would give it another 10 years, or so. Laughing
j/k.

If I would be buying another TV set, I would probably get a Sony PDP.
(easier on eyes and (i think) better picture performance.
not to mention the heater function during winter.) Wink

Of course, good panel with an excellent Bravia picture engine.

But then again, it's just me. Mr. Green MY08 TDV8 HSE
