Here we go again - alson in The Times today is a feature on how the anti 4x4 brigade is going to target footballers at their training grounds because 'How big does your boot neet to be to carry your kit" Very funny! They say all these London based footballers at Chelsea live in London and so a 4x4 is inappropriate - Hello! Chelsea may play their matches in London but they train in Cobham where most of them live! To give the article in The Times credit they do mention that many sports cars are more thirsty than the 4x4's.

As I live only 3 miles from their training ground thought I might drive up there occasionally and shout abuse!

All this press coverage is a way to test the public about increasing tax on 4x4's - I would bet that the next budget will increase tax on us in some way. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

That's Robin Sunpower's lot isn't it... talking of which, he is conspicuous by his absence lately... at least that article concedes that there are plenty of sports cars that are more ecologically unfriendly than all the top-end 4x4s that they've mentioned....

Third on the list, compiled by Nuts magazine, is the Range Rover, driven by 16 Premiership players including Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen and Jermain Defoe. It is the heaviest and thirstiest of the three, achieving fuel consumption of as little as 12 miles per gallon.

Might have to buy Nuts magazine for research! Very Happy 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

It's only the Ugly Pig Turbo S that can boast about knocking on the door of 170-odd mph... although I think my TDV6 might be in with a shout too, downhill with the wind behind me! Laughing Laughing

This is stupid.. most footballers have at least 2 cars each.. wouldn't you if you had that kind of dough lying around!!?

They probably have Sports cars, Limos, SUV's People carriers, etc etc all for different occassions and days of the week. And as if they set the fashion for cars anyway?

I'd have to have a whole new driveway built with a separate garage for each. Might end up using more land for my cars than for my house!! Wink
