How much did you get your new TDV6?

Hi all,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm going to get a Range Rover Sport TDV6. Spoken to a dealer few days ago. This is what the sales manager quoted me.

Brand new Range Rover Sport TDV6 (2007 built)

Options:
1) Genuine 20" Alloy (Not the stormer 20")
2) Metallic paint

Price: AUD$89k drive away

Is it a good buy or I can still sqeeze a bit more? I wonder how much did you guys pay for your new TDV6.

Thanks!

Thats about right for an 07 build car. Does it have a sunroof? I paid $91500 drive away with a sunroof, met paint and tow pack for an 08 build and compliance (with standard wheels because that's what I wanted)

Who is the dealer? Melbourne or Sydney. Have you asked about the corporate free 3 years servicing plan? Don't know whether its available on 07 cars but ask anyway.

Enjoy your RRS, I love mine!

both are very good prices, i had the towpack, metallic and sunroof on a MY06, with the corporate plan 93K on the road, running on standard 18" footwear. Corporate plan has been available on all models and years, but not demo's i believe, mate got stung on this at the end of 2005

Thanks BKHK and Zilch,

The brand new 2007 built RR Sport doesn't come with sunroof.

Sound like $89k for 2007 built is not a super bargin by the way. You guys could grab a decent built for low $90k with more options.

I have not negotiated with the manager yet. $89k drive away is the sales manager first offer. I wonder whether there is any more margin I can play with. Let say offering $81k to $85k. Do you reckon I can get it?

Thank you

You should clarify with the dealer as when you say 07 built, is that 08MY or 07MY.

There's a few used 07MY RRS's listed here with a couple of them mid $80k's, one low KM's is $93k.. Would suggest that if it is new it is a reasonable list price from a dealer.

http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/LAND_...;RegionID=

I would add that I always believe there is always room to negotiate with a dealer on any price - how much depends on how soon the next customer walking in wanting the same car will be..

Also remember 09MY cars will start shipping and landing in the next couple of months (My 08 landed in October 07) so for a few $'s more you may want to hang on and get a spec you want with the latest updates. By then the 07MY (if this is what it is) will be two years old..

key thing is also the prices went up on my8.5's in Australia, well as of last month i have been told by the stealers, and with the luxury tax about to potentially hit, perhaps an 07 is not a bad option. If it is an 07 i agree with 2nd rower that you should be able to haggle, it is about 1.5 models behind. I forgot to add on mine it had the rear parking sensors which were not standard at the time, so that bumped the price up slightly

Thanks

Hi 1

I was happy with my deal since when the price was taken at list and the sunroof, tow pack, met paint, dealer delivery (crap I know) stamp duty etc was added up, it came to $101+ change. I wanted private sale rather than straight trade in money for my BMW (which I got) and then we haggled about the price of the RRS to get to a changeover figure. Remember, if you have a trade its the price to change which counts.

You might haggle a couple of $k off your deal but I understand that the new owners want to raise prices anyway and with the LCT increasing from July 1 to 33% you might want to get in now. I don't think $81 would do it drive away, but $85-87 might just?

Let us know how you get on.

$92,500 including Stamp duty dealer delivery on road costs, Metallic paint, tow pack and freight ($1650) to WA from Queensland for a 2008 built and complied

Doesnt look like they are doing you much of a deal.

I was told by my stealer anything ordered now from the factory (in fact 4 weeks ago) is subject to the LR price increase, so it would be good to get a comparison on a MY8.5 and then work out how much a deal you are getting.

All, here is a spreadsheet that I put together when I was getting prices for my vehicle. I also received the three years free service on top of this.

By changing the formula in the LCT cell, you can see the effect of the upcoming tax change.

Hi all,

Thank you for your inputs.

That $89k RRS was sold a week after my first post.

They requoted me another one, still 07MY with non metallic colour, with sunroof and tow pack for $91k.

My friend just bought a 06MY second hand one with no option, only metallic paint with less than 20,000km for $70k from private sale.

Now I'm thinking whether I should get a brand new or second hand.

Cheers

Difficult one as typically over here they still retain some form of value, mine as been losing about 1K per month since i owned it based upon 2 trade in values i have been given on my MY06, 69/70K. Seen some second hand ones on the forecourt for outrageous money, but unsure what they moved for, or how much the stealers parted with

Good luck either way.. maybe push to a TDv8 Whistle Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

That's what happened to me as well. I was looking at a 6000km 2007 for $89900 drive away. By the time I made a really serious enquiry, it had been sold. The dealer said that he could be talked into a new one at "similar" money which is when I started to negotiate on my new one. For less than another 2k I managed to buy a brand new one and I am very happy with it so far. Probably the best all round car I have had.....

Cheers

So we got a brand new one for around $88k then. Is there any option in your car?

I had a look at the Audi Q7 last weekend. I prefer the interior of the Q7 but I still love the look of the RRS.

Cheers

I was going to add, that you can get a corporate deal under certain conditions this gets you corporate discounts and free servicing (if your name is Steve)
