Hi Va...

Used TDV8 mate in current climate, plenty around, with good savings.. specially important as your chopping it in two years most prob for an LRX.

Move your stuff over to the TDV8.. keep the D3 for a while, and see where your at in a couple of years.
Shame the current RRS has had these problems, but better now then next month i suppose..

Need any help with deciding figures wise with future residual expectations etc, drop me a line, be happy to crunch some numbers for you..

So what's the latest VA... facing a big bill or not?

I suppose we might start to see these sorts of things happening as the oldest RRSs move out of warranty. A bit like the old 4.6 lumps in the P38s used to give up the ghost on a regular basis once they'd done a few miles.

Looks like it's completely made of plastic... and that green LED display looks like a "home computer" from 1980! I got a Nissan X-Trail out of them once and that was just as bad.

I thought one of the selling points of LR assist was that you got an LR as a replacement should "the worst" happen. Confused Confused

Obviously not..... Sad Current: I can't say...Oh the Shame!

That's the ideal solution, where the dealer that gets your car throws you one of their courtesy cars... if there's not one available Mondial (who run LRA) have an agreement with Enterprise for car rental. If it gets to Enterprise you normally end up with something crap unless you make a song and dance about it and even then they can only get what Enterprise can make available.

When my sport had the turning off problem on the motorway.. i had that Volvo V70 TDI for a loaner for like 3 weeks or something.. that was half decent compared to some loaners! i did insist on a 'decentish' car..

Apparently, it represents high-end driving without the high-end price tag. Why go and buy a 911 when you can buy a Fiesta ST? Laughing

VA, my fourpenneth, get your self a decent Defender. Perhaps one already with all the offroad toys added (front & rear winch, roll cage, diff locks, rock sliders, jungle trekkers, etc etc). You could pick up a decent one of those for around £8k, a bit more for a very well preped and cared for example. Try the Devon 4x4 website where there is a forum including vehicles for sale.

Then pay £40k and get a second hand RRS TDv8.

You now have a great toy for the weekend. One you can take offroad without worrying about damage (character building) or breakdowns (cheap to fix and you can still drive to work the next day) and very low depreciation. Maybe something like this one http://www.devon4x4.com/forum/index.php/topic,4512.0.html

And you also have one of the finest Land Rovers ever built (RRS TDv8) and can keep her in her prime.

You know it makes sense.

Thumbs Up

I agree with Smarticus........looks like this fine example could be picked up at a good price. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
