08 Range Rover sport North America Navigation on the go code

I saw 1791 unlocks nav on the go and possibly front screen dvd on the go for 06 07 model years? Do we have anything about 08 models?
Thanks

In the US, satnav on the move wasn't ever introduced, but they also removed the ability to use the unlock code. Umberto has often mentioned this... Very Happy

On U.S. models, 1791 works only on the 2006. There is no known hack of 2007 and 2008. Maybe Tata is less afraid of litigation than Ford.

Kaine,

Denso makes the nav units for jag/landrover. They have codes to unlock the " Nav on the go" They kept these locked for the US market. They are the only ones who hold the code. This code will enable us to drive use nav features that are locked out once you go past 5 mph

FWIW, a few months ago I spent some "quality time" examining the dreaded loading.kwi file in both 2006/7 and 2007/8 North America DVDs, with a plain vanilla text editor on my computer. This is the file that contains all of the "secret codes" used by Denso in our navigation software to access diagnostics and so on. Although the majority of the file is obviously unreadable gibberish when using an ASCII editor such as my PC's Notepad (I don't have a kwik file editor), certain areas of the file are readable text, and these few areas do contain the sequence of codes that do - or did - something in the satnav: 753, 134679 - these two access diagnostics and have been documented in the past - and 1791, which used to enable on-the-go navigation in 2006s. I scoured around these areas but could not find any other codes that would do anything at all.

My feeling is that Denso decided not to risk it anymore, and disabled that back door entirely in North America with the MY07 software version, rather than just changing access code. Someone else (grommet?) on a different forum said pretty much the same thing after talking to an engineer at Denso here in the US. There is no new code, period. But, there is always a chance the engineer may be lying... Wink (that's why I suggested we should beat him to a pulp until he sings the code!) As long as you have enough memory to load it up - the 2008 file is 66+ MBs! - you can take a peek inside loading.kwi on any computer and an ASCII editor. Then just search any of the above codes, you should find them all neatly grouped together.

I know DENSO make the units (I used to work for DENSO for many years for my sins) - my question is what exactly would I ask my contacts for? Will they understand me when I ask for 'the code that makes NAV on the go possible' - normally they will relate more to technical terms

DENSO US wont have access to the dept in DNJP regarding the SatNav development - the departments in DNJP (DENSO Japan) are huge and you need to be in the division to get info. The Nav system was developed between DNJP and DSUK (Denso Sales UK Engineering) in Coventry - only guys from these two departments would have any info on this - I'll ask

I have the same touch screen sat nav in my FFRR, how do I gain access to the 1791 bit so I can enable mine?

Does it then enable it all the time or do you have to do the code every time? L319 D4 HSE
