RRS Parts

I know of a RRS being broken up due to flood damage. It's a 07 not sure of detail. Everything from wheels upwards available. Give me a shout if anyone is interested in parts. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Interested in touch screen display

Hi,
I have now owned my TDV8 for just on two months. I am building it up to go off road! Mr. Green I know shocking , though now I want to go off the beaten track I have the choice of building a car computer or getting a portable GPS (standard TDV8 does NOT come with a display). The boss has given me permission for both, god bless her Very Happy ! I have therfore been looking for a LR touch screen for the RRS and appear to have more luck copulating with Kylie Minogue Rolling with laughter ! So if you have a touch screen available, that still works, I am interested Question . Please give me a PM so that we may start haggling and Kylie may be safe.

Thanks take care and have fun,

Me DT.

For the touchscreen to work you'd need something which can output in the GVIF format - which is extremely rare indeed Sad Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

2 for 1 deal?

Hey, gentlemen does this imply she would bring a girlfriend Very Happy ? Because the wife will only share me with Kylie, suggest that shes knows that it is possible but we should own our own continent before that happens (The Eagles already own hell, think of reforming). BACK on topic;
Martin you are correct though I want to experiment, if the screen is not to expensive, with using one of the standard inputs and checking the correlation between the display and the touch screen component. On another forum either a Disco 3 or RRS (same diff) display had an interface set up (three or four wire touch screen interfaces available) converting it to USB. Excellent for car computer Thumbs Up !

If worse comes to worse then I have the enclosure to mount an after market touchscreen, so still a positive result as one theory is dissproven and conversely parts are still useful for implementation which is much cheaper then LR option Cool

For your touch screen and in-car pc there is a thread over on the Disco3 site http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic21001.html Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Parts availability

Alicatt,
that was it. Brilliant what they are up to over there including the height sensor which I will get around to later. Contemplating the electronic implementation need to find out about the sensors and their parameters (simple pots?)

Very Annoyed have responded via PM as I am keen to progress this purchase if the price is right.

Thanks for your help gentlemen and just in case you are wondering ownership of my continent is getting closer Laughing

Parts for sale

Martin, Alicat and Very Annoyed,
thank you for your assistance. I have placed an order and will hopefully receive my parts in due course. I am now after a GPS/GSM antenna to retrofit to my car, even if it is a dummy one and I place my own antennas in it.
I am slowly getting the parts together for a car PC and at the moment am getting the car ready for a long trip during coming up (4700k in 17 days). This week end was going to be fitting of the second battery but the boss was involved in a car accident (not injured but the blighter did a hit and run Evil or Very Mad , Polo was not drivable and another motorist could only get the rego # after chasing car!!! Police said that rego # does not exist in system Big Cry ).
Anyway I will take notes, pictures and post both installs once completed,

DTR.

P.S. I have recently had the Mitchell Brothers tow hitch fitted Thumbs Up of which I will post pictures, in appropriate thread, when I can get them reduced in size.

I seem to remember reading that the hight sensors on the RRS are diffrent from those on the Disco3, will go and have a look just now...
I'm thinking on the Matzkar mod for the suspension which also alters the speeds in which the car raises/lowers. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
