New TDV8 arrived

Just got my new Sport TDV8. Initial impressions are magnificent engine, flat handling and the car feels tight and rattle free. Very little knocking from front suspension and no driveline shunt unlike my D3. However there is more road noise and windnoise than my D3 which has Grabber AT2 on it. A little concerned how the directional 19" wranglers will cope with my 5 k dirt road, I had many punctures (6) with the 17"Wranglers on my D3. Any body know of alternative 19" tyres apart from the Goodyear MTRs?

Nice one Thumbs Up

Can you get these in Oz yet?

They're the only AT tyre I know off in 19", but not yet available in all countries. You only other choice would be the MT/Rs.

Tyres

G'day Leo,
have just looked up Michy ATs on Michelin Aus website. No sign of them in that size. maybe they will be available sometime but I doubt it. We can't get Goodyear MTRs in that size here either which seems silly as there is plenty of offroading to be done here !!

Goodyear have the MTR listed on their Oz website - in the right size 255/55/19, so you may have a chance.

Give these guys a call:
Beaurepaires Mornington
Unit 3, 1002 Nepean Hwy, MORNINGTON, VIC, 3931
Phone: (03) 5975 3500

It's strange how most tyres go from 18" to 20" but leave out 19"!! Typically, that's the size that LR decided to go for.....

South Africa 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Atacama Sand

I've had my TDV8 for nearly 2 months - this is a huge step up from the trustry D2, so I think I've gone to heaven. My dealer suggested I ask the LR Experience instructor, Rob, to show me the on-road capability after doing the introductory off-road course ...... wow Shocked Shocked can you see my eyes ....thats how they looked after the drive down the road. This is the most amazing car. We took a few corners at high speed - the tyres did a lot of screeching and all the electronic wizardry did its thing and slowed us down and kept the car almost level and on the road (even though Rob kept his foot flat on the accelerator right through the turn - he didn't even try and brake!!!)

We also tried to get the car to skid on a dirt road - again Shocked Shocked same story - foot flat no brakes. The D2 (and most other cars) would definately have rolled over. The car was outstanding

If you have an RRS I hope you enjoy the drive as much as I do, it is an amazing motor car.

I have only 1 complaint - the South African spec has excluded seat heaters
