I'm with Kaine on this one. Your insurer has no justification for registering your insurance enquiry on your file and treating it as a black mark on your record. This is paramount to treating you as a devious untrustworthy person. Take your business elsewhere at the earliest opportunity. I've decided not to go the chipping route - at least until the warranty ends. But there are plenty of companies out there that are willing to accept chipping. The normal increase in risk seems to incur a 10% loading on the premium - these days equating to half a tank of fuel! Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps. |

I suspect I am being overly cautious but I have had first hand experience of an insurance company trying to wriggle out of a claim a few years back. It took me 6 months and the Insurance Ombudsman to get my claim paid so really I'm not prepared to go through that hell again!

Because if the engine, gearbox, transfer box, diffs, axles etc develop a fault, they will not be covered by the LR three year warranty. Anyway, by the three years have expired I will probably have to take the RRS to be recycled and turned into a Toyota Prius. I wonder if anyone has chipped a Prius yet.
