Tim do you have the sockets at the back of the centre consul. Sit in the middle back seat and they're by your feet! There are plenty of posts about this! Just search for ipod. If you don't have the sockets there is now a £150 option from Karman available through all good car stereo shops and some bad ones too.

I've been thinking about running the cables under the centre consul and up through the hole between the front 2 cup holders. The ipod could then sit where the cupholders are and covered by the sliding top. A little bit of soldering to connect to the rear sockets should do unless someone knows what cables relate to which socket of the cables you can see through the hole between the cup holders. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

We have done a few iPod installs into RRSports and use the Dension Ice>Link Lite cradle with a dashmount bracket, which we then hardwire into the aux socket cabling.

Gives you a very neat cradle within easy access of the driver and no messy wiring. Charges the iPod as you drive too.

The Harmon Kardon device is clever, but a tad ugly IMHO!

A pic of the cradle on a BMW 650i here which should show you roughly what it will look like.

Cost is circa £150 including installation and VAT for RRSport members.

Prestige Audio,

Is it possible to control the Dension iPod from the car audio system (and therefore able to mount the iPod out-of-sight) on either the Discovery 3 and RRS?

I am not keen on having any additional kit, wires or mounts on show. Even though I don't leave stuff in the car, getting your window broke as they search is no fun.

Hi Robbie,
Sadly not - I believe that NavTV in the US are developing something but I have no idea if or when it will ever be available.

Cheers

Chris

This is why I'm hanging back from doing much with my iPod. I'd like to be able to control it through the car's head unit. I could get the Belkin line-out/charger and set up a few playlists but it looks a bit unfinished to me.

Prestige Audio,

I would be happy just to have that cradle. Just a couple questions.

1. How is the cradle attached to the car?

2. How easy/difficult is it to remove?

Thanks, AC

Im been trying to get a cable to plug my SE phone into the Aux socket, and im just gonna buy a monster MB card for my phone and use it as an MP3 player. I got the SE connector off ebay which is a lead coming from the SE phone connector to what looks like a female headphone socket.

Now need a short cable to attach male end into the socket to phone, and the other side to connect into the Aux socket in the rear of the RRS, where can i get one of these leads from? Male to male connector, and is this a 3.5mm connector?

Sorry for being thick..
