Avoiding the Road Tax Hike

EVO magazine has an article this month on avoiding the road tax hikes.... It goes like this...

1) The obvious one... buy a pre 2001 car.

2) Buy a grey import....
If sourced from outside the EU, there is no CO2 test on the SVA.
- Tax would be £200 per annum if over 1549 cc.
(Wonder if a Japanese sourced RRS SC would fit this bill).

3) Buy a classic
(pre 1973) - No tax.

4) Buy from a low volume car manufacturer

5) Buy a tuned car
(Or tune it yourself. Those chipped RRS will be making more CO2 if they are faster / consuming more fuel. Which they may not be to be honest.

6) Buy an (economical) diesel 2022 P440e AB

Or alternatively if like me you have our wonderful HMG as a customer just add an additional 1p/mile to their invoices for travel and therefore get them to pay it for you Rolling with laughter MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

But then you find guys like me who scrutinise accounts for payment in HMG and have very harsh methods for getting back taxpayers money from those who try to defraud us........................................ your RRS wouldn't look so nice falling out of a crusher all for the sake of a couple of quid would it!

Jollyjack,
And me increasing my charge out by 1p/mile out for legitimate travel costs for call outs on a pence per mile basis to cover the full cost of the trip would be classed as fraud because??
I take it you think it's probably fraud when I add the Congestion Charge to my invoice when working for them in Central London too, perhaps I should just absorb that out of my margin.
Perhaps your precious time might be better served "scrutinising"the "expense" claims of our wonderful MP's who unlike me seemingly don't have to sign off a P11D for their expenses as being "wholly and necessarily" for the business and seemingly also unlike me can divert taxpayers funds to their wives and children even though they don't actually carry out any documented work in return.
So Censored off mate.
P.S
Oh and by the way just remind me how much our MP's can claim per mile compared with how much I can legitimately claim without incurring a Benefit in Kind charge?
And do any of the cabinet for example pay Income Tax on the costs of their Jaguars and chauffeurs, or the rent on their Grace and Favour 2nd homes or weekend shag retreat for the "visually impaired one" on The Chatsworth Estate as a Benefit in Kind ? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
