Has anyone on here done their own oil and oil filter change for a TDV8? There is a well documented procedure for the TDV6 courtesy of our Disco3 sister site, but I've not been able to find any help for changing the oil and filter on the TDV8. (I do a lot of short cold-start journeys and therefore think it a good idea to carry out a mid service change. I am not prepared to pay my dealer the £140 asking price for 15 minutes work, a few litres of oil and a £10 oil filter)

The oil alone comes to about £136.  TDV6 - gone

I got the Dealer to do it in Oct '07. Breakdown of bill as follows:-

Oil £139.80
Oil cooler £8.00
Plug/Drain £8.50
Filter £28.00
Disposal £9.95
Plus labour and Vat = £303.68

Which probably explains why no one else bothers  TDV6 - gone

The full service was 433.
