Interesting how a couple of you have mentioned that you're worried what clients will think of you turning up in an RRS. Is that because you think that they would have the opinion that you fritter your money away on unnecessary things like pricier-than-average cars? I've always felt that the nicer a car you can turn up in, the better impression it makes. OK, so you wouldn't make the same impression turning up a bright yellow 911 Turbo or anything, but I've had nothing but compliments from clients of mine that have seen my car.

Agreed - people who I deal with are impressed with a good car. I know that work has come my way because people feel that I may be more expensive but quality counts and the car reflects this. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Fair point, I suppose it depends on the circumstances on how you come into contact with people in your work.

I wouldn't worry in a RRS but would think hard about a RR. Most would not mind in the slightest but some would. Of course then there is the wife.......... she'd mind the most |

Interesting observation that. My job as a Chartered Accountant (CPA to our US cousins) takes me to many of my client's premises. Maybe I am being over sensitive here (or I have some complex sense of guilt, no doubt originating with potties and childhood) , but I do sense a negative attitude to the RRS that I never felt with the D3 or Merc. There is no doubt that most people see it's called a RR and so dont really differentiate between a RRS and a full on RR. What new shiny RR seems to "say about you" is not entirely positive in a paying client's mind. Images of : Am I being charged too much ? Do I trust this guy's judgement on how to save money ? Is he trying to show off ? Is what he tells me in someway superficial or suspect ? As a result I find myself parking my RRS out of site or travelling in a colleagues car. Ridiculous ! - isn't it ? |

Smarticus this is a valid point I think it depends on your circumstances. Also the car you drive can affect the way people treat you sad but true. It can be a positive or a negative. I think I drive the car I deserve nothing more to it. RRS TDV6 HSE BUCKINGHAM BLUE BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR RHODIUM TASMOD SILLS PARROT 3000 EVOLUTION WHITE SIDE REPEATERS RRPORT.CO.UK BROLLY & STICKER

I learnt to drive in a LR, soft top before the 110, think they called it a 3/4 tonner. During 13 years in the Army I've lived and breathed "off road" all over the world in some hostile spots. Since then I've had a company Defender and Discovery for work. So I guess I don't feel the need for the rough stuff anymore. I've also had a couple of my own Jeeps.

Saw this 2 weeks before my TDV6 HSE was to be delivered....I ignored it, smug in the knowledge that I was right to reject Touraeg Atlantic, X5 Sport, ML320CDi Sport, etc, etc.
