Any of you fans of the Merc CLS?

Not swapping RRS, just thinking of new wheels for Mrs Nick......love the look of the car, although interior a little cramped and high internal door sill - still beautiful though....

had a test drive last year and decided against one for exactly the two reasons you have listed - cramped interior feeling and sill too high

Also the suspension in the one I drove was too harse

I think they look superb, but personally couldn't live with the claustrophobic feel

Kiane same as me mate - love the way it looks, in fact it's bloody gorgeous! But the interior has me stumped - I'm a big ish bloke and just dont feel too comfortable in it - also as we have both said, you can't drive it with your arm on the sill...shame though as I love it - you can get a good 57 plate 320 CDI for just under £40K - not sure on either silver or black (not a silver fan but looks good on the CLS) - or might go for a new SLK - although don't like the rear of it....

I had a look at the CLS back in 05 when they were released, and had a super spec 350 come through recently, which i transported from walsall to solihull, and its a great car..

Get used to the sill, and unless you sit in the back a lot, you'll get used to the shape of the car.
One thing though, they mostly have the light wood trim, which i hate! most dealers call it the ikea wood trim, but for some reason this is standard and you have to opt for the darker wood/black wood trim.

If you spot anything on, www.directmercedes.co.uk let me know the reg and i'll see if we can get you a price on it, we do a lot of cars through these guys, and generally get a good shout on the prices/stock.

If you could make do with a CLK, we're selling my sisters 2006/06 silver with super spec, 16k miles, trade bid on it at £24.5k, its all yours for that? command, 18" alloys, parking sensors, phone pre wire, comfort seats with ivory leather trim, black roof. Retail for around £27k..

I would always go for the maple would trim - is it me, or do these cars not only look good, but represent excellent value for money - there are plenty of 07/57 cars with good specs for under £40K....maybe I will get on on demo for a weekend before I make up my mind.

Thanks for the offer of a CLK Kam, but not my cup of tea I'm afraid......but thank, will look on direct and see what they have...

CLS's do look good, esp in AMG trim, but again I'm a big bloke and I don't fit so well. A friend of mine has just got into a 320CLS and he loves it, even though there's less space in it for the kid's stuff than there was in his previous FFRR.
