6 months down the line, having hauled my car from one service to another, none one them has figured out for certain what is wrong with it. It pulls away fine from start but always between around 1700 to 2500 rpm it sounds as if it is "chugging". This does not seem to slow the acceleration but the sound is bloody annoying. The service told me they had another car which was making this sound all the time so the changed his diff and then even the turbo before settling back on the pump as the guilty party. Now they are "convinced" it is the pump but having changed it on this other car, the noise is "significantly reduced" but still there. There is no way I am buying it that this is "normal" and specific to the pump. Anyone else had pump problems out there?

Down here they haven't heard of doing windscreens as an add-on so my comprehensive insurance takes the hit - anyway that is only the icing on the cake. The real problem is this 'mysterious' sound my pump allegedly makes RRS TDV6 (gone)

Hmm, don't recall anyone mentioning this before either... at least any works will all be done under warranty so it'll cost you nothing more than the inconvenience

Nope Tim, it's a different issue entirely. Strangely on my car, the sound is NOT apparent when the engine is cold but as soon as it hits normal operating temperature it can be heard when the engine is strained. This leads to some consideration of choking or not but I doubt it. The other car the dealer is working on demonstrated the noise all the time at all speeds. WowWoW, I am sure your's is a petrol engine so i suspect a different problem. Shmoogle, it's nice to have the warranty but after 6 months they still haven't fixed it and in that time it's been in service for 6 weeks in total - and before you ask about a courtesy car being provided............... ha ha ha RRS TDV6 (gone)
