Just had to book the motor into my local dealers due to it rattling like hell every time i drive over the slightest bump.

Its not going to be looked at untill next sat morning due to me working away all week (currently rattling around Norfolk which makes it worse)

Any idea,s what could be wrong & am I likely to do any further damage???? RRS TDV6 HSE Giverney/Ivory.

Anti roll bar bushes or track rod ends are probably the cause of your rattling. Not likely to do any more damage.
But to forewarn, you may have to be quite strong with your dealer and not let them fob you off.

Since it is sunday morning & confession time here goes.....

I took the RRS into my dealers yesterday & went for a test drive with the mechanic, who agreed the car was driving extremely harsh.

He suggested I left the car with them.

upon return I was given an explanation as to what had gone wrong.

Some idiot had bought a brand new never used set of alloys & tyres off a guy who had 20" wheels fitted to his new car.(mine are the standard 19"hse)

The same idiot then fitted them & forgot to check the tyre pressures!!

Evidently when cars are delivered the tyres are blown up to more than twice the pressure they normally run at & at PDI this would be sorted.

The idiot just fitted the wheels in sheer ignorance.

The car is now fine.

Delivery pressure on new tyres is 60psi. No wonder you thought the ride was a bit harsh.  Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
