Help with LR's 2nd Service

Hi All,

My 2nd service at the LR stealer is due next week (after 12 months of ownership and 13K KM on the odometer).

They mentioned that the will need to execute SERVICE "A" on my car for a total cost close to $450.

Q: Do you know what SERVICE "A" includes?

They also mentioned that they will inspect my brake pads to see if they need replacing.

Q: Can they FORCE me to change my pads if they still have like 5-10 mm on them?
Shouldn't they wait until the brake sensors go off and give a warning?
Can they play the warranty against me on this one (If I don't change my pads when they
tell me to, I lose my warranty Shocked )

Not sure exactly what the service items are for the first service, so someone else will need to chip in on that.

They do normally inspect the pads at this point though and dependent on how heavy you are on them, they will likely need replacing. In the UK at least, brake pads aren't covered under warranty, although I know other markets with maintenance packs have them included (of which you may be one). I don't see they would force you to have them done when there's still use in them... a simple notification to you should be suffice.

Shmoogle, this with regard to the 2nd service and not the 1st one.
The 1st one was FREE of charge.

No. My warranty agreement does not include replacement parts (such as Brake Pads)

Will the BRAKE light sensor go ON once the pads are due for replacement?

I had my 1st service on the TDV8 yesterday. 12months and 13000miles. It cost me £377. That included oil, filters, lubricants and sump plug. They gave it a good valet and a 'health check' with printout on tyre depths etc. Oh, and free coffee all morning!! 2010 Discovery 4
