22" Wheels..Where did we all buy them from?

Evening All,

Where did we buy our 22's from.

I want to buy a set and take the point made several times that there are several different brands of aftermarket wheels , some very poor quality.

In the true spirit of the forum I thought I'd save myself a few miles and see where everybody else has spent their hard earned.

I looked at a set of tigers today with a 730kg load rating . Is that too little?
Are they all that low rating?
Anyone with a set of tigers?

TIA.

I see Wheelbase sell Stormer 22", not sure if all these 22" Stormers are the same?

On ebay there are a few selling them, I wonder if they all sell the same product?

It is an absolute minefield. Let's face it, for the stuff that comes from China/Far East, you just have to take their word for it that they have been load tested in the correct manner. I saw an advert for replica Overfinch wheels with certification. The dealer was unable to provide me with any written proof of the certification (I suspect none of the can)....I ended buying genuine ones...

Nobody's saying that non-OE wheels are definitely going to crack under the weight of the car of course, but if you're into doubt avoidance then OEs are the only way to go. Now, LR don't make a 22in Stormer (they only do them in 20) so you have to go to replicas. But Overfinch make 22in Tigers or Supersports so they'll be a safe bet.

Hey Nick,

Sorry I have not got back to you. It has been an incredibly busy period. If my wife is not using the car that day, it would be great to meet with you guys.

On a related note, has anyone ever colour coded OF Tigers? I was thinking of doing them in Grey in order to tone down the car a little…?

All the best.

never thought Java needs toning down - in fact the steel colour lends the car a crispness - hence why I changed my fully coded side grills to java and stainless - to show some steel. In fact the trim on my running boards is also black - I might revert back to the original colour on that too - don't think the wheels need to be coloured....

It was more the contrast with the Java. Silver 22" wheels seem to stand out a lot. Also, if they are in Grey, they won't look so bad if I don't clean them for a few weeks... Mr. Green

mate dirty wheels are a huge no no in my books!!! Even if the weather is bad - always like my wheels being as clean as they can - some people love dirty RRS's but I hate it - hence why my mortage is approx the same as my car cleaning costs - am having a very high end valet programme on my new maser - costs about £1000, with follow up work - but it's worth it
