United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black
2008.5 satnav voice control

Is it just me or is voice control a complete pain in the arse?

I cant get this pompous sounding git to recognise anything I say but the nice lady who used to be in my D3 would hang on my every word.

Even phone numbers are not recognised ..... told him to dial "1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1" today and he wanted to dial "1,4,1,1,4,4,0,1,1" .....whats all that about?

Is there a way to "train" the voice recognition system or is it a waste of time!

ps...I live in Liverpool and and cant speak with a plum in me gob ....dont tell me I need to talk lik e that to be understood! RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

It's pretty pointless the voice control... it only ever got used in mine to amuse Shmoogle Jr 1, who used to shout random things at it so it would say "sorry" Rolling Eyes

If its a male voice it is set up wrong. Look in your satnav settings menu, there are 2 areas that you need to make sure are set to the UK not one. I believe you have the US option, which although male doesn't have a US accent. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

Shocked Shocked Glad it can be changed to female. The guy was bugging me yesterday. How 'disc two track 15' sounds like 'disc 1 track 8' i dont know.
