Overwater Bungalows......

Given the extraordinary success in Pioneer Plasma TV info.... I thought I'd ask if anyone has a list of the world's overwater bungalow hotels..... Thumbs Up

If you want, I need a week in a 1st class establishment, (not French Polynesia - too far for one week), end June. I'd like to avoid Hurricanes, Monsoon's and the like....

Over to you extraordinary chaps at rrsport.co.uk...... Thumbs Up

Sounds like the Maldives is the perfect place for you Wink
But I'm not sure about the rain... You can have a sunny vacation in June, but the rainy season also starts in June Whistle

Edit: This looks very nice... http://www.mabulwaterbungalows.com/photo.cfm
But I'm not sure about the location (Borneo) Whistle

I was going to suggest the Maldives too, but June isn't the time to be there - monsoon time! It'll be hot but most of the time it'll be wet too.... mind you, hot and wet might be the sort of holiday you're after Whistle

Actually that was on our list of possible honeymoon destinations.... but again, is it too far to go for a week? You'd fly into KL and then connect up to somewhere more local, wouldn't you? 11hrs to KL on it's own I think let alone the connecting flight and associated mucking about.

Yes a fair treck to get there but it's absolute quality. I worked in Malaysia for 4 years and stayed on a few occasions. On one occasion i managed to get so drunk that i proposed to the missus.................

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

June is no good for the Maldives - SW Monsoon at full strength - in fact Sri Lanka, West Coast of India etc are all out on account of that.

How about Zanzibar or Kenya? Or in the Atlantic there is the Cap Verde Islands. Also the Philippines would be nice then. Another nice sunny place would be the island of Masirah off the coast of Oman, although it does get a bit of SW monsoon weather

Have you thought about a cheap week away at LHR T5, sounds like BA/BAA might be looking for some people to inhabit the place by then based on their present record?

Of Course the UK is nice in June and there are timeshare places in Norfolk that are build out over a lake somewhere (They are advertised in the property section of the Sunday Times every week) only problem is they are on a Golf Course and that isn't everybody's ideal holiday location! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Yep, the restaurants are good!

Uninterrupted views (of the airfield)
No need to worry about unpacking your bags (as you won't know where they are)
Short walk to the twin rivers (so you can drown yourself)

I have the airmiles to go business so the trip that far is OK.
There will be a connection anyho for an overwaterbungalow so could work.

In the Maldives the connection can be as little as 30 mins on a little boat... but I see what you mean Very Happy

Haven't been there so can't comment on Pangkor Laut, but it looks like the sort of place that is a bit of a haven for divers Thumbs Up

Paulo, what's more important? Blue water or bungalow on stilts?

Just thinking that the Red Sea has some fantastic waters (and it's not so far away)... but not sure there are any overwater bungalow resorts there Confused
