2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

NPINKS posted that there is a Premier Travel Inn or Travelodge just round the corner from the Ace Cafe. I will be looking for a room there for either the night before or the night after.
Some of the guys who have registered are F2,D3 and Defender2 owners so it won't be a totally RRS event, but it will still be a grand sight to see so many.
Anybody know if there is a car wash nearby? I will have driven the length of the UK to get there and cannot appear in a dirty car............................. although the nearside wheels now have permamud ingrained into them from having a drive too narrow so that side always looks like it has been mudplugging every day! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Everyone, due to numbers involved and the interest this event will attract - we are going to have to make it a strict numbers event - so please be advised that only confirmed RRS drivers who have expressed an interest on the list here and ones i confirm by email nearer the event will be allowed to attend. I'm not being school matron here, but Charles Hurst are only going to be able to allow a certain amount in terms of people and cars attending
Can you elaborate on these restricted numbers Nick, I presume you're only referring to the visit to Charles Hurst? I doubt some of us are bothered about going there (me included) but keen on the Ace Cafe meet up

Ok...a few things...

Yes there are two/three hotels near the Ace and Charles Hurst (Holiday Inn/Travelodge). I will have a word with them.....if any of you do stay on the Saturday night we can plan an evening out....a curry, drinks etc...

I know a great car wash near there too...i will arrange a morning for any of us to take our cars there to be cleaned and will get a rate too...

I will know tomorrow re numbers after checking with Hursts and Ace Cafe....and will then split numbers in case any of you want to do either/or/both

August 16th looks like it's the day.

I will email and post a reply here tomorrow once I know details etc.

People can either mail me here or at nick@starknakeddesign.com

Mate you win a top prize - very nice spot....yes her people do know, courtesy of a small payment to her people. Basic site, my clients force me to sign confidentiality agreements - hence none of my work shows up anywhere....

VA - any word on Martin coming down with his little shop and Guru like ways? Would be great to have Mr Forum (and you of course) at the helm.

FYI Nick We would be interested in the visit to CH if possible, but not essential, if things are getting tight.

Also you could consider me in the numbers for that car wash on the morning of, as having driven the length of the M4 & then some, I’m sure the old Sport will be a bit grimy Wink

That said though if I get into London early enough on the Friday, I might get the wash done then.

Also, as we’ll be staying in the area for the weekend, arriving on the Friday, so would be well up for any “post meet entertainment” Thumbs Up

Thanks Jay...

Rupert can't see there being a problem....but will let you know. I have been in touch with Ace cafe to see about a lunch there - as thinking about it I can't see them letting us use their site without us plonking our bums down for some lunch...

I have a great route planned for a drive - james from CH knows the area well too - so should be grand!

I will look at a social do for people staying up on the saturday night - Mrs Nick and I are always up for a social night out - and hey it will be my 40th that week, so we're in party mode for the whole week!

I appreciate that some may not be that intersted, but the offer is there if you would like to meet at the dealership, have a quick coffee and a snoop around the workshops before heading off? Very Happy We are due a fairly major refurbishment later in the year, so it may well be in full swing by then.

I understand that the dealership may be used as a meeting point, then from here you will have a 30-40 min convoy up the A40 and then back to the Ace Cafe.

I'll keep an eye on this tread and we'll be more than happy to see you on the day! I will probably come out for the drive and the meet at the Ace myself too Cool .

Looking forward to it NickM and Tim!

James Thumbs Up
