HST exhaust tips - will they fit a TDV8?

Got my hands on a pair of HST rectangular exahust tips. They come in two sizes - for straight-pointing pipes and for downturned pipes (like mine). I got the latter.

My question is - will they fit? By looking at them and fitting them against my rear bumper and the tailpipe I think they will fit once I cut the downturned part of the tailpipe.

However, not sure about this...

Any thoughts, anyone?

BTW, cost me about 330Euro Cheers,

Andrei

I think you will have to cut the rear valance/bumper to get them on 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I will certainly have to cut the tailpipe, but the bumper looks like it will accomodate them... Has anybody had any experience fitting them?

I know you guys dont like the HST kit, but I think the tailpipes do the car justice. I like the rectangular ones better than round or oval. However these look biggish...

will fit and tell Cheers,

Andrei

They might just fit, but the HST has a totally different rear bumper/ valance with an integrated lower spoiler that the tailpipes come through. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

that I am aware of, thanks, Tim: I've seen it. however, if it fits with a regular bumper and looks ok (to me at lesat) - why not leave it there? Smile Cheers,

Andrei

I did it. Quite a lot of hassle, actually: had to cut the tip pipe as stock made the tips protrude some 2cm from the bumper. Also had to weld a plate on the outside of the tips so that they dont look alien there.

The only thing that makes me feel happy is that there is no other tdv8 with such tips in town Smile

F#CK!

doing this for the 3d time... and GAWD is this gallery a pain!!!

OK.

Plates had to be welded to make sure the tips don't look like downward-pointing mushrooms (guess stormer bumper normally covers the upper part of the tips):

part of the tips had to be painted black to cover the welding and to make the tips look more... integral

and here's what I finally got. quality is less than mediocre abd weather is... very typical, so i'll post more pix when weather improves:)

oh, forgot to say that the TDV8 badge is coming up Smile

also thinking of painting the rims black. do you think this might improve the looks? Cheers,

Andrei
