Water in headlight

I have somehow got a fair bit of water in my 2 headlights. I have taken the units off and see that they are not water tight. I have drained as much as possible and hope that the heat of the lights will evaporate the remaining water. Has anyone else had this issue? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

No, haven't taken either of my RRS's into water deep enough to wash off the bonnet................................ try putting them in an oven at a VERY low setting (otherwise you get smoked lenses!) or leaving them in the airing cupboard overnight, make sure that any vent holes are on the top though so the water vapour can get out. Hope this helps. Does VA Towers have an Aga? That is the best place to dry them out overnight - on a rack above the Aga.

VA one thing to what out for after the dunking is the heat/sound deadening material under the bonnet, when I waded my 90 in water up over the bonnet the sound deadening absorbed a lot of water and then it hung down onto the cambox of the engine and in the near to the turbo......................... had to do some drastic surgery to the material to stop it from catching fire with the engine/ turbo heat. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

But you get a decent bow wave that will come over the bonnet and be lower than the intake if you go in properly! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

But when you wade you create a bow wave which is higher than the max wading depth. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

bow wave

when you create a bow wave it is in front of the vehicle ,so should not be able to get in the rear of the headlight the same way as it does not enter the air intake ,if it is entering the headlights this way the headlights are faulty Thumbs Up
