Windscreen wiper wash not working even though I've filled up the fluid. The headlamps wash is working correctly though - any ideas? FOR SALE

It sounds like your washer jet tube has become disconnected behind the bonnet deadener pad.

16p for a fuse - any dealer worth his salt would surely replace it for free................................ I know margins are tight but 16p could make the differnece between a happy customer and a cheesed off one! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Its not the fuse db, if you read the original post again you will see that the headlamp power wash is still working. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. If you try the washer and the motor makes a noise but no water comes out it is either a blockage or pipe disconnected. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award

They are on different fuses IIRC, same on the D3 - and I had just this on my D3 a couple of weeks ago, replaced the Windscreen fuse and away we go. I replaced the 10A with a 15A as the 10A goes too easily IMHO, many D3s running with slightly higher fuses in that slot with no apparant problems... Yep not ideal but then I suspect that the 10A is not ideal either as it seems (from lots of D3 evidence) to blow at the first sign of blocked/frozen jets. The fuse is there to protect the wiring primarily and hence prevent a short causing a fire - however much of the D3 loom is fused at 15A or higher so I am happy to replace the fuse as the wiring should be capable of carrying 15A safely as it can/does elsewhere. Well I didn't know they were different fuses. So I'm happy to say thanks I've learnt something new about the RRS.

I bet TB is right my D3 does it from time to time, the pipe pops off the jet and the sound deadening material soaks up the water so you don't see it. Presumably if the fuse has gone you won't here the pump running? Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate |
