2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Does the bluetooth ever switch off?

Hi,

The reason that I ask is that even though i've completely removed the key from the RRS and locked up, when i unlock the car to fetch something, but do not put the key in the ignition, my phone pairs up again. Really annoying when i receive a call because the sound doesn't come through the handset, unless i discnnect the handsfree from the menu that is.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It switches itself off about 10 mins after you take the key out, I believe. But it maybe that when you go back out to the car and unlock it, it reactivates when you do so. The presumption being you're about to get in the car and drive off Very Happy

Have noticed that mine pairs up even when I am 30 feet from the car and walking towards it even after the car has been parked for a long time! Could it be something to do with the "sleep" mode that the car goes into if you park it with the air suspension lowered? If you leave the springs pressurised then the car stays "awake" and all the systems are ready to go 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hmm, possibly then!

There's been talk about it on here before, when someone parked their car close to their house and couldn't take calls on his mobile whilst indoors because the car answered them.... Confused

RRSs begin to wake up when the key fob is first detected, ie before the fob transmits an open door signal, hence the BT will wake up and seek the last phone it was paired with, which can quite easily happen before you get to the car.

LR presumed all RRS drivers would be impatient I think.

BT also stays paired for some minutes after being locked, LR presumed we would change our minds a lot too.

Many a time the locked car is still taking calls while the phone (and we) are in the house... Rolling Eyes Cheers

just for reference, in the Allroad you can set the BT to deactivate when the key is removed or stay on for 5 mins depending on your preference - LR software update for 8.5MY or 09MY maybe?

Obvious, user-friendly and helpful. WHY DIDNīT LR DO THAT Evil or Very Mad

Overall I regard the Phone Integration a complete pile of pooh inappropriate to a car of the RRSs standard and cost......good job its such a nice drive!!

Finaly had to upgrade the phone installation in my MG as I no longer have my trusty old Nokia 6310i. I have added a converter box that lets the 6230i talk to the car kit for the 6310. Fine I can make and answer calls but no phone book, sms, or any other of the nice featurs the 6310 could do, I had full access to the menus of the 6310 on the sat nav screen and now nothing. Ah well thats progress... At least I can get the phonebook on the RRS. Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Could these "improvements" be anything to do with rumoured forthcoming legislation to stop people using things like satnavs and PDas in their cars???? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Police kit would no doubt be allowed if such legislation did come into force. I doubt it will ever get that far. Look at the mobile phone regs - next to speeding, that must be the most ignored law on the road. You can be sure to see countless people still holding phones to their ears whilst drinking coffee and reading a map Rolling Eyes
