Workshop manual

Now I know its a shock that someone wants to open the bonnet!

Usually by now illegal rip-off CDs of the workshop manual have appeared on E-Bay (not that I would condone this or ever buy such a product Confused ). However nothing has appeared.

I have, however, seen talk elsewhere about subscribing to the GTR website - does this have workshop manuals - I can only see the user guides and a "Circuit Diagram".

I want to do things like change the brake pads etc. to avoid the value for money LR workshop costs. (nothing needs doing yet - its only done 8k)

Being the mechanical luddite that I am this might be a ridiculous suggestion - but is there a Haynes manual for the RRS?

No they have agreements now I beleive that mean they only cover it after warranty period from the first car so it will be 08, if at all, I doubt Haynes will cover it

The only one yet (that is accurate) is the official one. Wink You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

This is a part screen shot of the main index in the subscription section of the GTR
It gives you some idea of the documents available:

FWIW
This document is not for the feint hearted !
Whilst there is no master index I would estimate that there are more than 1000 pages of information.
It assumes a high level of previous experience in mechanical practice and procedure.
REMEMBER Most dealers also have all the electronic diagnostic equipment as well and STILL manage to get it wrong at times.

So they will give me access for £8 per day, which sounds bad until you compare the savings with the dealer labour charge.

Can articles be printed - or is it screen access only? 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Each screen capture can be printed, but it's a bit of a PITA. It's not a pdf file, unfortunately.

I've asked the question to Haynes re: a manual and this was their reply:--

> Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding a Service and Repair Manual for your vehicle. Unfortunately, we do
> not produce a Manual for this particular model and have no plans to do so within the next 12 to 18 months.
>
> However, all customer requests are recorded and used in the decision making process of future Manual
> publications/updates.

Maybe if everyone sends mail requesting a Haynes manual for an RRS we might get somewhere...

queries can set be sent to manualenquiry@haynes.co.uk.

I did not check the workshop side yet, but if they are like the owners manual, they can be saved as PDF. But yes is a pain as each one has to be downloaded separately and then stacked together. Wish they would offer the whole manual for download on a single file for a reasonable price. '08 RRS TDV8

I bought the RAVE disk for my MG ZT only to find that my model wasn't covered ... then MGR went bust, I did manage to track down a RAVEII disk that does cover the ZT260, I'm glad I have it and have used it a few times, not because the car breaks down, but because I have done some mods to it. I hope my RRS is as reliable as the MG has been Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Not so much as to do the dealers out of work, but knowing your systems etc esp. when you are a long way from the nearest dealer. 110 miles one way is a bit of a distance to go just to change a light bulb... Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
