Good question - I think it's compatible with all Ipods, although I'm not 100% sure. Someone will be able to confirm. |

If the first generation IPOD has a 3.5 mm female jack on it, plug it in via a wire with 2 3.5MM male ends...should be a cheap test to find out. PJPR

/PJPR01 thanks for trying. ![]() i use nano (3rd gen) as well. it's just that i do have a 1st gen ipod with bat problem that's lying around. Just thought it'd be nice to be able to use it. (or to use something that's actually made to fit the dock, if you catch my drift.) cheers. MY08 TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue / Ebony / Lined oak / 19" Factory / Sunroof / Roof rail / Ipod Dock |

I have a ipod photo 30Gb, it doesnt fit....... unless you remove the top clip as it is to thick to get in at an angle. I dont know if that helps.

/umbertob that's exactly what happened. i found out the hard way, as usual. i forced-fit it into the cradle but just didn't work. MY08 TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue / Ebony / Lined oak / 19" Factory / Sunroof / Roof rail / Ipod Dock |

Umbertob's right to get to all the function's on the ipod you have to use the docking cradle i.e track select, track name etc....
