I experimented with an orange lens (off something else). I sprayed it lightly the same silver as my RRS just enough to cover up the orange. I then held it over the bare bulb of a side repeater and lo and behold it gives a bright orange light.

only problem with spray painting the side blinker is that it chips off quite easily,
