United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Hello there...Vibratrion..god ddman it!.

Well i am new to this forum and thought i would write a post. I picked up my TDV8 last tuesday, saturday just gone..threw a hissy fit at the stealers because of the vibration problem i was expereincing. Fortunately the dealer rep came out with me...went to 70mph.....80mph.....90 all the way up to 120mph..still nothing...untill...the road surface changed...steering started to vibrate...like a beast unleashed. I brought the car from a stealer..so they are taking it back..saying its a balancing issue...not sure me self...and no one has seemed to solved the problem...on this board...fortunately i sent them the bulletin posted on this site before i picked it up..asking for a confirmation from all, sales guy, servicing and director that this was not an issue with this car. I have told them they have one chance to fix it..if they screw it up want an exchange (withing 30days)...or money back.

I think them confirming they have read my email and stating it was not the case on my new car leads to misrepresentation.

On a lighter note...love the car...its superb...coming from a wee audi tt...its awesome and the speed on this is unbeleivable...drove a TDv6 but the TDV8 is so different ...just hope i get the vibration stuff sorted out...

Anti roll bar bushes - Very likely to be the issue Exclamation Can be fixed, but not sure for how long it works.

Track rod ends - possible

steering assembly - possible

Wheel balancing - very doubtful Rolling Eyes TDV6 - gone

United States 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Buckingham Blue

Mine vibrated on only one stretch of road (Highway 6@Westheimer if your in Houston) at around 55 - 60mph, well it did until I checked the tyre pressure and found them to be a bit low.... since inflating them to the recommended psi.... no vibration and just to prove it I deflated them again and it came back on the same stretch of road only ... weird ! Brit across the Pond Wink

Stealer wrangle!

well the car is going back tomorrow. We shall see what they do. I have told the same sales rep to drive the car on the same stretch of road. Also told them they have one chance to fix...not prepared for the car to go back and fourth..and mentioned that if it does occur again...i will be looking at an exchange or a refund. Luckily i work for a very large investment bank and they have there own legal department...of which a friend is part of. Told him the story of the fact i emailed everyone there with the bullentin of this problem and getting a reply back that the car is fine. this amounts to a misrepresentation...as the test is would you have brought the car if you knew the problem was there...and the answer would be no. Anyway i sent them an email...and it was amazing how fast they responded!..once they knew i would take them on legally

i love the car, it has only done like 9000 miles over the last 10 months...so the anti roll bushes wearing out might be a bit premature..no?..

oh well lets see what they come back with...will def keep you guys posted.. TDV8 3.6

I think if they sort the anti roll bar bushes it will solve it. Just had mine done recently after 6 months of ownership. Problem appeared within 2 months of new. TDV6 - gone

I had the same problem with my LR garage. Told them on day one that they needed to fit new bushes..............3 months later the penny finally drops after numerous visits and other bits fitted and they change the bushes......hey presto the racket stopped.
Would they listen to the customer Rolling Eyes

Perhaps the answer is to find out from us all which garages now have the experience and therefore should be able to diagnose faulty bushes and therefore fix it quickly. TDV6 - gone

Update

Well guys they have had the car since thursday last week. Spoke to the Director today. Weren;t happy with anything they have said so far. they apologised profusely.

In return this is what i got

1st and 2nd service free of charge. 1st Service will be all inclusive with no extras to pay at all. 2nd service will cover the cost of service only.

They have given me 12 months road tax from end of feb onwards.

Half price dealer mats.

and Pure guard the whole car. Told them i would think about it.. just want the car sorted. they are cross referencing the bullentins generated from here..doing the geometric tests and checking bushes etc..i do actually think they are quite sorry...for all the agro. Director mentioned he will personally push the car to get ready ASAP. In the meantime he typed me a letter which promised all of the above.

interesting proposition...only if they knew i want the car without a shadow of a doubt....but the treat of a return and legal action...got them rattled...woudl advise all RRS TDV8 and TDV6 owners to always have somethign in writing from them before you pick the car up stating things have been checked!.

update you as and when stuff comes through TDV8 3.6
