About to Order, Questions on Spec.

Hi guys, just found this forum, picked up some useful tips already. I'm just about to order a TDV8 but have a few questions about spec. I'm hoping someone here can answer.

1. Why should I chose Premium ICE over Hi ICE?
2. Do either ICE packages offer DAB?
3. What else do I need to be able to watch TV/DVDs (when parked of course!)
4. With the HSE spec. do I need any other options to be able to hook up my phone?
5. Is the rear locking diff. any use to someone who is only occosinally going to be going off road?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Question 4 & 5.

4. Depends what phone you have. Check the approved pone list.

5. The diff is great if you are going to test the car but for light occasional use I wouldn't pay the extra if money is an issue, when it comes to re-sale you are unlikely to recoup the cash. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Welcome to the forum!

1. Depends how into your sound systems you are. I presume you're aware of the differences... i.e. with the Premium ICE, you get more speakers, an active sub, Logic7.
2. Not yet. I suspect it will be there for MY09.
3. There is a Hybrid TV option (i.e. it's a Freeview box on wheels) - go for the full RSE if you need to keep the kids quiet in the back.
4. The HSE has the PTI as standard now - but as VA says, different phones behave differently.
5. Probably not.

Ask your dealer to play one of your own CD's in a demonstrator without Premium ICE and then in another vehicle with it and you will notice the difference in quality.

I like my music, and as a result would certainly specifiy it, however it is down to personal preference. If you get the opportunity, watch a DVD in a RSE & Premium equipped vehicle (especially a film like The Matrix), I guarantee you will be impressed!

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response guys, I think I'm going to leave out the diff. but add Premium ICE. I like my music too and if there is a clear difference I'll probably wish I had ordered it later.

Thanks again.

VA, unfortunately not able to offer a financial indemnity such as the one you are suggesting, however premium ICE is very good!

Is it my imagination or has this post been trimmed slightly by the mods since I last looked? Whistle
