I have driven both ST and the TDV8 is so much better packaged in the RRS.

The FFRR implementation still has that tractory note to it.

Also driven both , actually had ordered FFRR TDV8 and switched to RRS. The TDV8 is just so much more dynamic then the FFRR. The FFRR is still quiter, but has much poorer onroad handling. The RRS is much more a drivers car, taught,stiff, more road,tyre and engine sounds but if you like that sort of stuff...great.

The TDv8 RRS ( teh TDv6 without dynamic response is alot poorer IMHO) is very akin to a sports car then a SUV.

I'm certainly glad I went with the RRS. Also you get full spec on the RRS at HSE level, whereas you have to go to teh Vogue in FFRR to get all the bells and whistles and they are megabucks RRS HSE TDV8 Java black/Ebony interior, mud flaps,20" stormers, towing, roofrack,sunroof,cooler V8 Tasmods Sills,black badges, carstyling java black vents

I've actually voted for FFRR as I think that is what we will get next. I never have the same car twice and I really think that the interior is a BIIIIIG factor to swing it the way of the daddy!

Not looking at Diesel next time though, FFRR S/C for us I think. I've heard rumours they are going to turn the wick up to 500bhp - anyone else heard the same?

If you want to make it handle like a RRS then go see Overfinch (I think I will! ) but Mrs ST has put her foot down about an Autobiography metallic white - Too P Diddly she thinks!  Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award

Have had both FFRR and RRS in TDV8 guise and found them to be very different - in my opinion if you wish to go long distances in comfort then the FFRR is the one. However, if you want to drive then the RRS is the one to have. Found my FFRR was much faster.......... It depreciated faster than a cruise missile! ______________________________________________

I doubt anyone will be hugely surprised by the results thus far - RRS has it almost 4 to 1. Thanks for the feedback though guys, it has helped consolidate my views. A Fiat 500 it is

You need to drive both, and on a long test drive to reach a considered opinion.

They are both fantastic vehicles, but they are also two totally different vehicles. The Sport is a sports car, a drivers car meant for performance, equivalent vehicles being the Porsche, X5 etc etc.

The FFRR is a luxury vehicle more in keeping with a Bentley, you get larger seats, more accommodation, vast boot, split tailgate and a hugely improved spec, the vehicle smooths out the road like a large ocean going liner and gives a harsh free ride - but you also have to pay for all this.

Straight line performance between the two vehicles - there is absolutely no material difference, the Sport will corner better though.

Both vehicles are aimed at different sectors of the market.

Choice comes down to personal preference, what you want the vehicle for, the looks of the vehicle and how you enjoy the way it drives. You do need to try both before reaching a decision, mistakes are otherwise costly, believe me I know!

Thanks to the very helpful chaps at Charles Hurst - very prompt professional and friendly service. Unfortunately they weren't able to get me a suitable bid on the current car - Kam is now seeing what he can do for me.

Nobody likes to take on 535d's for some reason... I had trouble shifting mine for the right price too.
