I'm collecting my 56 plate V6 RRS in a few days. It has the Land Rover factory DVD with screens in the headrests. My question is - can you play the sound through the car speakers? My son is 14 months and headphones don't fit him, he likes to watch In the night garden while we're travelling, and I like him watching it as it keeps him quiet. I have done a search but can't seem to find much about it.

Yes, the DVD soundtrack will play through the car speakers, the source on the infotainment system will automatically change to DVD when you select it on the front touchscreen. Two auxiliary A/V inputs behind the center armrest, AV1 and AV2 included with the RSE system, only play through the rear headphones, however. Of all the toys in your car, that DVD player is the one that "keeps on giving" every time you take a trip with your little monster sitting back there, trust me on that (my daughter is now 3 and 1/2 but two years ago, when I got the Sport, she wasn't...). Sure, you'll eventually start singing "La-la-la-la Elmo's World" for no apparent reason in front of your colleagues at work, but at least you'll keep your sanity in the car. |

YEP RSE is the salvation of all parents with young or teen aged kids, we went from Chaos to Quiet in a matter of seconds once we changed the LR3 for the RRS. My lot are happy to use headphones so its no Elmo songs for me Brit across the Pond

I can sing all the songs from Lazy town, In the night garden and worst of all, High School Musical. Sadly me and my 6 yr old daughter sing the duets from HSM. Don't suppose you get In the night garden in the US? Was in a restaurant the other day and my 14 month boy was getting fed up so I you tubed Iggle Piggle on my Iphone to keep him happy, watched one of the first ones that came up, when iggle piggle falls over, someone had added a gunshot. Cracked me up, but don't think my boy appreciated it too much |

Oh don't get me started on In the Night Garden.... I'm sure that programme exists as a covert government mind control method! Both of mine love that programme and once I'm watching I don't seem to be able to pull myself away

Iggle piggle and the Ponkipines! Argggggggggggggggggggggggh The one I really hate is Underground Ernie! On the upside some of the female presenters on kids TV are rather fit! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten 2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed. The other thing I meant to ask is, does the RSE come with anything? e.g headphones or remote control? Just so I know what should be there when I collect. On the pictures i've seen of the screens, they have little black squares at the top, I assume these are remote sensors as they aren't compatible with wireless headphones. |

You should get the remote, of course. Wired headphones were not standard issue with my 06, although I think they started including them in MY07s here in No America. |

They were standard for my 08MY with RSE, 2 wired headphones and 1 IR Remote. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
