Price on an 55 plate S/C

Hi Guys,

First of all congrats on a great site... s**t load of info with no ads. Perfect!

Looking at getting myself an S/C soon... not bothered about MPG, work in city and use public transport so RRS will only be used at weekends.

I've found an S/C First Edition at my local Land Rover Dealer... £34,850 for an 05, 55 Plate. Buckingham Blue with Ivory and Privacy Glass/Rear Entertainment. Does this seem a good deal?

Also, is Kam the best person to ask re: finance options?

Thanks in advance,

Darren

ps. yes... in order to maintain an ad fee site, a donation will be on its way

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Welcome to the forums LEMM,

First of all if it is Buckingham Blue with Ivory it is not a 1st Edition............................. there were only 300 of each colours below made for the whole world!

1st Eds were only available in Zermatt Silver, Java Black or Vesuvius Orange. The interior was not much different to the HSE - they got Lined Oak wood on the dash and door panels, PTI phone integration and Stormer wheels, upgraded HiFi. So you are being offered an "ordinary" S/C with a mark up on it. Price depends on miles and I think now 1st Eds are not worth anymore than the normal S/C UNLESS it is in Vesuvius Orange when it is obvious that it is a 1st Ed and there are only 300 of them worldwide, so worth more. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

interesting... defo says First Edition on Spec sheet. Need to have a chat with the dealer... hopefully i should be able to save some money Wink

Stormer wheels are on the spec sheet, just need to check the PTI bit... is this not standard on S/C?

re: mileage, 24K...

exactly what i want... just need to change the colour.

Orginally was looking for a Java, but looking at a Buckingham Blue has now got me going down this route. In some light conditions it looks black, other a very deep blue... well worth a look if you've never seen it before.

Buckingham Blue is a really nice colour and it has been round since 2005! Yes it looks black in some lights but much nicer than BORING Java Black. I would suggst that you also contact James at Charles Hurst Park Royale W3
as they usually have a stock of the darker coloured cars as they sell well in London for some reason )make good Taxis/ Chauffeur drive cars??). 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

don't worry... might live in Surrey but my S/C (when i get it) will defo be going off-road. Probably greenlaning at most... but it better than nothing.

Only thing i am worried about is find decent offroad tyres for 20in Stormers... i'll cross that bridge when it arrives... in the meantime need to find the S/C first (and pay for it)

Goodyear MTRs on 19" alloys Thumbs Up That's the usual offroading rig for RRS - you can pick up 19" wheels from folks with HSE's who are upgrading to 20", be careful about buying non LR wheels as these cars are HEAVY and need the higher weight/speed rating of OEM's. Also because of your Brembos you cannot fit a wheel smaller than 19's which restricts the choice of off road tyres a bit. See VA's posts about offroading his TDv6 or TJ's G4 V8 special. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Lemm - forget trying to get off road tyres for 20's much better to pick up a set of 19 or 18's from ebay and put mud tryes on these. Where in Surrey are you? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Lemm used to live in Epsom so know the area. Best place for tyres near you is AJS 4x4 in Tadworth. I'm just down the road from you - between Guildford and Cobham, there are a few lanes near me but nothing great. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
