Tell me....do they have a Tech note for.....

1) Wife fills diesel with petrol
2) Puts key in ignition and turns on
3) Turns key further to start engine
4) Drives car a few k's to shops
5) Rings husband and asked why car won't start?
6) Husband asked wife if she put petrol in car instead of diesel
7) Wife says no, then check receipt which says "Unleaded"
Cool Husband throws mobile phone across room and tells her to sort it out herself

???

It's now being towed to dealer for "assessment"

Rule 1 - Never ask your wife to fill your car, regardless of how many times you tell her it's a fu*@in' diesel and make sure you don't put petrol in it Banging Head RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

Don't know if this will accelerate the divorce proceedings or we will have a noisy bedroom tonight... Rolling Eyes

Vehicle has run for less than two minutes:

1 . Referring to relevant section in the workshop manual, drain the fuel tank.
2 . Remove the fuel tank assembly.
3 . Remove pump/sender module and invert to drain excess fuel.
4 . Remove all traces of residual fuel within the tank using clean absorbent cloth/paper.
5 . Remove fuel filter and discard.
6 . Disconnect fuel supply to high-pressure pump.
7 . Flush all fuel lines (inc. fuel return) with clean diesel fuel and retain all fuel used.
8 . Check for magnetic particles in flushed fuel in any assembly removed.
9 . Remove both high pressure fuel rails and high pressure diverter rail taking care to collect any spilt fuel.
10 . Empty the fuel from the rails into a suitable clean container and check for any magnetic particles.
11 . If metal particles are present, continue from step 4.6 below.
12 . If no magnetic particles are detected, re-assemble the vehicle (with new parts as necessary - refer to GTR) and road test vehicle for at least ten miles checking for normal engine operation and no stored diagnostic trouble codes are logged.
13 . Return vehicle to customer.

Actually, does "Vehicle has been driven until it stops" and "Driven until it no longer starts" fit in the same category? Rolling Eyes RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

Welcome, mate.
It wasn't Tim who had the misfueling experience.
Anyway, if you know a way to avoid doing it why not share the idea with the forum? Wink Malaysia Boleh!
