We'll happily 'throw in' a filter for all forum members until the end of December 2005 if they place an order for a chip before then |

Replacement air filters usually increase airflow over the OEM product and therefore lead to the engine "breathing" more deeply. This in turn leads to small increases in power and torque output. There's probably more to it - but I think that's it in a nutshell. You can also normally reuse replacement filters too - which makes them a better long term investment.

There is definately a slight increase in bhp with a 'performance' air filter but I personally think the greatest advantage is that they keep optimum air flow even when 'dirty' unlike a standard paper one that clogs up and causes a reduction in power output Chips with everything |

Here are some "real" air filter test results, including K&N: http://home.usadatanet.net/%7Ejbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm Fans of placebo marketing shouldn't read this.
