When you say it isn't working - what seems to be the problem?

Note that PMs don't appear in your sent folder until the addressee reads it.

However, you may not hear from LRtuning.

I'm caught between DMS, turbochip and JE after reading the reviews. Any idea as to which is most reliable?

There are several users of JE and Turbochip upgrades here - I've not heard of single issue from either of them. Search the forum and you will find LOADS of feedback about both. The choice is yours at the end of the day mate. Thumbs Up

I would install the site sponsor product, either Turbochip or TorqTune. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

At the end of the day I'm just worried about smoking. Does diesel quality affect the performance of these mods?

Pap - you really need to do your research. If you don't have the time or the inclination to search the huge amount of previous conversations on the topic, at least contact the sponsors directly and they will be able to authoritatively answer your questions.

Hi Papparazzi,

I had the upgrade from Steve at MVS (also a site sponsor)

My tdv6 is around 2 secs quicker to 60mph (about the same as others) and is a world of difference to the standard tune. I have driven TDV6's with TC and JE tunes and i don't think there's much between them.

To attempt to say which is best will end up in a Censored ing contest which won't tell you much anyway.

Smoking or non smoking??

Mine only emits a small puff (no sniggers!) if you apply full throttle from a standstill but clears immediately and won't smoke again.
oh..it will also pull convincingly to the speed limiter if you have a runway to practice on Whistle

I think steve was offering a money back offer recently (he wasnt when i took the plunge).

It might be worth taking the money back offer and if yours is a bit smokey then you've lost nothing??

Good luck

Speak to 10forcash on the D3 site. I believe that LRtunning developed his tune Torqtune. As I understand it you can modify the tune to your requirements such as max mpg, max power or torque for towing or a combination so I'm sure that he could help. FWIW when the JCB car broke the landspeed record for a diesel engine it was tinkered with so the black smoke was white! Speak to Martin he works for the company that did it Laughing

JE

I've spent the past day literally at my computer doing the research. It looks like a toss up between JE and DMS. JE's torque gains are good - 100ft/lb and I like their philosophy about emissions control etc. (bearing in mind the vehicle is diesel! Whistle

They're also half the price of DMS! Thumbs Up

John at JE was very helpful with my questions.

Go with JE Thumbs Up I did on my TDV6 and had no issues other than a big Very Happy

They've been modifying LR's for a very long time and working on engineering projects for all manner of customers. Circa 30 years Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

One thing you can be certain of with JE, is that if you did have an issue then they have the know how and the engineering facilities to diagnose and rebuild your whole vehicle from scratch.

Not many laptop tuners who can say that Exclamation TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
