Maybe, like Biggles above, just before starting on a long journey, pour water into it until it fills up? I think (I could be wrong) that scorpio doesn't know how to check the windscreen wash level. Forgive me if I am wrong b/c I don't want to insult your intelligance, but I think that's what they're trying to understand RRS S/C Special Edition, Vesuvius |

Long gone are the days of the Range Rover Classic where you had a huge 2 gallon clear plastic reservoir sitting in the top of the engine bay for all to see, no, most modern cars have the bottle tucked up inside a body panel and just a filler neck to see from the engine bay. My M5 is like this and so when filling up I listen for the different sound it makes as it's getting fuller, and then stop as it reaches the mesh filter in the filler neck.

I have now covered 6,500 miles without the need to refill the bottle. If I checked it every time I was going on a journey perhaps that would reduce my mileage? OK, it's summer but I have been using it regularly for bug guts removal To put it simply, I suppose it's quite a big bottle, check it when you check you're oil every 2 weeks or so. |

the oil light should tell me when the oil is low, i did not spend £40,000 so that i could lift the bonnet every week to check the levels etc, nearly all cars today have levels that are indicated on the dashboard,

Pray do tell us - which car has a wiperwash level indicator on the dashboard? Yes, agree with you. A warning message and not an indicator. I believe all vehicles have that. The operative word is "LOW". But if you look at the first posting, Scorpio admits the 'book says warning will come on screen' .... . Apparently Scorpio is not happy with that and wants more. Most probably he wants an indicator - something like the fuel indicator which will show a real-tme reading. So he does not have to pop the bonnet to check the level. One look at the dash and he will know for sure if the level is half-full, four-fifths or whatever. And he dosen't want to be caught with a wiperwash low-level warning midway on his long trip! All or most warning lights/indicators come up when the level is dangerously low. To want to avoid this, the usual advice is covered under the 'owner's maintenance'. Every week check this; every month check that and so on. Of course, like Biggles pointed out, just check the damn thing before embarking on a long journey! Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too!!!
