Does anyone have the wheel alignment figures for a TDV8. Need caster, camber and track for both front and rear. Dont ask why  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Cross Camber = 0º ± 45' - Maximum (0º ± 0.75º - Maximum)
King Pin Inclination (KPI) = 13º 54' (13.9º)
Total Toe - all models except TdV8 = - 0º 10' ± 12' (- 0.16º ± 0.20º)
Total Toe - TdV8 models only = - 0º 05' ± 12' (- 0.08º ± 0.20º)


Steering Geometry - Rear

Rear Suspension at Standard Ride Height:

Camber = -1° ± 45' (-1° ± 0.75º)
Cross Camber = 0° ± 51' - Maximum (0° ± 0.85º - Maximum)
Total Toe - all models except TdV8 = 0º 14' ± 0.08' (0.24º ± 0.14º)
Total Toe - TdV8 models only = 0º 24' ± 0.12' (0.40º ± 0.20º)
Thrust Angle = 0º ± 8' - Maximum (0º ± 0.14º - Maximum) Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Many thanks, I thought they were different to the V6. Now I can get all four wheels back to where they should be after some nice tyre garage adjusted the tracking with the wrong settings. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Out of interest, how did you know they used the wrong settings?

Also, on the TDv8, why the change of settings? Engine weight? 2022 P440e AB

Must be something to do with the additional weight, the TdV8 is 2.7 tonnes and the V6 2.5.

Also found out that alignment can only be done with full tank of fuel or by adding 0.8Kgs per ltr of fuel. Tank holds 86 ltrs

The car has eaten a new tyre in a week, they graciously accepted the settings were incorrect and replaced the tyres on the front, but the car was pants to drive, very tetchy round roundabouts and cornered better to the left than the right. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I was under the impression that Tyre Fitters were not able to carry out alignment / tracking on most modern 4x4's as they had to be done with specialist equipment - All they should do is fit tryes & Balance wheels. This was certainly the case with my Audi Quattro and I thought the same was true of the RRS - But Hey, Feel Free to slap me down if I'm talking out of the wrong hole!  2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

TDV8's have different settings purely down to the extra weight of the engine up front.

Some high performance tyre fitting places do have the right equipment and the experience to do the job properly. Regardless of the type of organisation that has the equipment, the operator needs to be fully trained and experienced AND the equipment has to be regularly maintained and calibrated to keep it accurate. The trouble is, it is a bit like going to your favourite restaurant and expecting the same excellent standard of food - the regular chef may be on a day off and the apprentice is now in charge for the day!

How do I know about the TDV8 settings being different? Well I've experienced the problem previously with Porsches. I therefore took the trouble to check the printout results against Land Rovers data and surprise, surprise, I found out I knew more about TDV8s than the dealer's technician did. Hence my car goes back in again this week to have the alignment done again.

Incidently, some of you with cars that pull to one side when you let go of the steering wheel on flat, straight roads, might be interested in the following I gleaned from somewhere in my distant past (one of the few benefits of being 60+):-

"Most cars are not particularly sensitive to caster settings. Nevertheless, it is important to ensure that the caster is the same on both sides of the car to avoid the tendency to pull to one side. " Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Audi Quattro is one of the easiest cars to track providing the opo has the right settings. Most will put the Coupe settings into machine. As the Quattro turbo only has one adjustable arm on the front and two on the rear. Set the rear to toe out 0.5mm on each rear and 0.00 on the front and on they go. No other adjustment available. Sorry to go off topic, but having owned atleast one of these beast from 1984 until now have plenty of experience with them  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
