Gents, and ladettes, is there an official upgrade from Land Rover to raise the TDv6 power output, or is it purely down to aftermarket from Turbochip etc. I would be interested but slightly nervous of screwing the warranty....or getting caught doing so if there was a major problem.. It is all aftermarket, but I've not heard of anyone finding that a dealer has turned them away or refused to pay for warranty work. Some dealers even ship in the likes of Turbochip, Superchips or whoever to actually do onsite work.... very grey area mate. You're right though, makes sense that if you're in doubt don't do it. |

My dealer offered to chip the car at delivery. |

My Dealer DID chip my car prior to delivery and assured me it won't effect the warranty. He also added that there is no way of telling with their diagnostic equipment that the car has been chipped anyway. |

It will affect the warranty if LR find out! Perhaps you should give 'em a ring and see if they do |

Completely agree EX-X5, I asked that exact question of my dealer and he assured me it DID NOT effect my warranty. He is a Main Dealer and if it did become an issue i'd see LR & the dealer in court! Incidently, It did not effect my insurance (With LR Insurance) either and I was completely up front with them about it. The only downside to the whole chipping thing is that he also told me that when dealers find a problem that they are unsure of they often start by re-loading the cars engine mapping to see if it cures the fault - of course they only load the standard mapping, so you cou could put your car in for a service and lose your upgraded mapping without actually knowing it until you feel the loss of performance. I think your only recourse after that is to pay to have it re-mapped yet again ![]() 2013 Evoque 5 Door Pure Tech SD4 - Orkney Grey with Panoramic Roof (Mrs E's new baby) GONE - RRS - 3.0 TDV6 HSE - Santorini (2010) GONE - RRS - 2.7 TDV6 HSE - Java Black (2007) GONE - Porsche Boxster S - 3.2 - Black ![]() |

Most chipping outfits will offer a reflash service for a nominal fee rather than charging you the whole initial cost again. |
