Gents, many of you may know how long I have been wanting to see a Vesuvius orange RRS. Earlier this week I was at Dunsfold Land Rover, and happened to see this beauty sitting with all the wrecks and riches in their yard.

Don't most LR-owned cars have VX number plates? I presume they are all registered in the same place...

Interesting history but could it honestly be sold as a 1st Edition. Usually pre-prodcution cars go into the big LR crusher as their specs are weird and can cause dealers problems at service time. It will be worth a huge amount of money in about 20 years time especially if the owner has kept all the other trinkets that went with the launch of RRS and 1St Editions and he can match the reg to the car in the brochures! Same as the 3 or 4 4.4V8 Superchargeds that managed to escape from the factory. Only draw back is that it has probably had the living daylights hamered out of it by planeloads of motoring hacks having prelaunch test sessions. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The other side of that coin is that maybe it's been looked after very well
