Belgium 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
MY08.5

Hi,

I just went over the order I placed for my RRS and I called the dealer because I couldn't understand some of the specs, maybe you guys can:

The car is marked a a MY08.5, the only changes the dealer knew of where:

- Electric steering colum
- Zebrano wood finish instead of lined oak.

I would be having one of the first MY08.5 models here in Belgium Cool

Do you have any more info?

Thanks,

08.5 MY was only launched in the last couple of weeks. If you have ordered an existing dealer "stock" vehicle the odds are it will be a 08 MY. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

The car has been ordered at what they call "STOCK", it's simply a bunch of RRS that have been configured and ordered by the dealer, they are set to arrive in December, so it's not at the dealer yet.

We checked the ordering system and it's marked with a order number for a MY08.5.

But what are the changes between MY08 and MY08.5?

If you have to wait for your vehicle to be built, it will definately be 08.5 MY. Thumbs Up

I don't know all of the changes, if you do a search on the site I'm sure someone will have listed the majors.

I'm sure most of the changes are subtle software changes, no real cosmetic changes that I can recall. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Thanks, I've been searching but not a lot of info on the MY08.5, it's fairly new.

I'll get a full photo shoot done when she arrives, another 7 weeks Big Cry

The new wood finish and the electric steering with memory are already in the price list, so that's not part of the MY08.5 changes.

We'll see what they bring, as long as it's nothing major to the looks of the car it will be all benefit Thumbs Up

Electric steering wheel adjustment - part of the MY08.5 changes for the UK. Some other countries had it as standard prior to this Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Tim,

Bluetooth mods (software) were on 08 model year, so the only difference with 08.5 in terms of phone system is the loss of the connector in the cubby lid where previously you could have plugged a cradle in. TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

I still have the connector in the cubby, as soon as the dealer saw I had a Nokia 6230i he ran into the parts dept and got me a cradle for mine and gave me it foc Thumbs Up
the phone system works with my UK 6230i and my Belgian 6233 over bluetooth with no problems.
As I share my RRS with SWMBO our settings for seat and steering are slightly diffrent and the electric column would be handy for that.
Of course she went and stored her settings over the top of mine Shocked Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

So the cradle isn't there by default?

I though about changing my Nokia 6680 for a 6230i so that I could get full phonebook transfer to the RRS and at the same time a phone charger.

If you have an MY08 and a Nokia 6230i you will have the phones phonebook on the car's phone ( if the phone is in or in the vicinity of the car) and without the need for the cradle. Presumably the MY08.5 will work just the same and hence LR have dispensed with the plug in cradle Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Alicat, your's isn't then a UK 2008.5 model as the connector (where the cradle usually connects) has been removed from the spec. It's still there on 2008 along with the improved bluetooth functionality.

Phantom - On all pre-2008.5 models you could order a cradle that suits your mobile (subject to availability and popularity of your model) which would then clip/plug onto the inner-lid of the cubby box. I forget but I think they are/were £80 ish from dealers. This cradle gives far better functionality on <2007> the bluetooth functionality has been improved so that the car can access most phones phone-book etc.

So, to summerise, 2008 and 2008.5 software is the same but 2008.5 looses the port/connector for an optional cradle.

Moral of the story for 2008 and 2008.5 drivers is to use bluetooth but always carry a car-charger!!! Thumbs Up TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.
