The car should have a built in fuel burning heater............................... except that some early cars had them missed out on the line |

Just checked on my MY07 HSE and it has a silver box with a Webasto sticker on it just behind the 3 fluid bottles. It's approx 5 x 5 Inches square with a couple of foil covered pipes connected to it, If that's the FBH then they do still have them. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Yep my TDV8 sport has one of those silver boxes, so are we saying this company can do a remote or something that can turn the heaters on in the car??? |

If I remember it isn't a remote control, more of a timer unit, so you set it up to switch on at a certain time interval before you want to use the car. Normally the FBH will only cut in without the timer when the airtemperature drops below 5C. It is basically there to counter the high thermal efficiency of the ferrous graphite engine block which takes a huge time to warm up the air under the bonnet even on really cold days. Even with the FBH my RRS still takes about 5 miles driving before I get warm air out of the blower, my Defender is blowing hot air within a mile of leaving the house! On very cold mornings you shouldn't be alarmed if you see a small whiff of smoke coming from the front airdam - it is the FBH exhaust! When I had my Freelander1 I called the dealer thinking there was a fault under the bonnet causing the engine to smoke the first cold morning I experienced this! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

But it only warms the engine, it doesn't blow the heat into the car |

I would be interested in the remote, the timer would not be much use for me. '08 RRS TDV8

I just spoke with Webasto. They have still not made any upgrade kit for the heater i.e we will not be able to control it as we want (remote etc)
