MANY Mods to my 4.4 HSE

Ok - it's been a while since i posted a message, but i haven't sit still:
Our 4.4 HSE has been my wife's car for a little over a month now and it was about time to get some simple yet (IMHO) nice modifications to the exterior.

I ordered the SC Grill, Side vents and black L/R badges and replaced the the originals:

The bright grill with the dark exterior color looks great. The black L/R badge on the rear is just somewhat more sportier than the green/gold one.

Today, per Toodeep's example, i had Chrome exhaust tips welded and had my front windows tinted (32%) - although officially illegal in California, it makes the car 1) look better 2) protects the seating & dash from the sun...

The cost?

Tinting the 2 front side windows - 100 USD ~60 GBP
Welding & Purchase of Exhaust tips - 70 USD ~ 39 GBP
Grill, Side Vents & Badges - 148 GBP - Ebay in the UK.

Car looks great, I too purchased the SC Grill/sidevents/badges. I have already replaced the badges and front grill, just had a couple of questions for you.
1) How did you replace the sidevents? I didn't know how to remove the old ones.
2) Where did you get those chrome tips for the exhaust.
3)When you put the black badge on the back did you use the thin black badge that fits overtop of the green one or did you use the full replacement black badge where you had to remove the old green badge completely.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Nasa - thanks!

To answer your Q's:
1. I used a small screw driver (flat) and carefully put it against the bottom of the vent, at the position of the clamp (see replacement side vent) and carefully pushed the screwdriver upwards and then the vent comes out - it takes a little force and you have to be careful not to touch the pain clearly but once you did the first one, the 2nd one is easy

2. I went to a local muffler shop and asked them which models they had - they cut off the bended end of the original ones and welded the new ones on
3. I completely replaced the old batch - i used dental floss to demount the original badge and after 5 mins and 3 yards of dental floss it was done - then clean the old spot and put the new badge right back.

Good luck!

Nice work,
Thinking about these simple mods myself, it makes the car look so much better especially the front grill mod.
All I need is some Santa Clara sunshine like yours to take my photos and the job will be a good un. Wink Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.
