Thought people might want to see the results we are producing on the TDV8 at the moment. Below are the Wheel performance Power Output not flywheel. This was taken from one of the Range Rovers we did for Kahn.

TwoRonnies, The reason why we don't show much increase on the power run before 2300RPM is that it is very difficult to put full throttle down on straight away without the vehicle kicking down through the gearbox. There is actually a big gain before 2300RPM although the gragh does not show it. One other thing the power run which was produced by us was a massive task which i think many people would not go to the trouble of doing, because the vehicle, when it gets to 75MPH wants to raise the suspension and jump off the rollers and break free.

could I ask what the negative effects can come from a remap?

It may be just me, however I feel many people on this forum and others are always a little concerned why manufacturers dont achieve these types of improvements - possibly for homogenous reasons with respect to global markets maybe?

Could I ask your opinion on this including your stance on warranty etc

my concerns precisely, Kaine. all this chipping and remapping sounds jolly great, I'm thinking about it for a while now aswell. but then there's the question: why didnt/doesnt landrover themselves achieve this? would be great publicity, a few extry horses and less fuel consumption for that price.
I've heared that it's because landrover has to guarantee that those cars work the same in the desert as they do in the arcitic tundra, or at 3000 m altitude. If you remap it, the car will work great wherever you live, but going in radically different climates might not be such a good idea.
I read up on it on wikepedia a bit, and it seems that ECU tuning can limit the fuel range i.e. you can only use the 98 or 100 octane ones afterwards, and the 95 octane one for example might be too dirty.

I traded my E46 M3 for a TDV6, as you can see I went from one extreme to the other. I put the E46 through its paces on many a track day, and don't get me wrong, it was a nice bit of kit.

The RRS I bought was second hand, therefore I cannot tell you if it has been re-mapped, but if it hasn't I don't know what all the fuss is about. I have driven and owned many prestige cars, but the RRS (V6) has ample power for what I expected.

Don't get me wrong, I test drove the S/C and it was awesome, but for that type of money i'd rather have another 911.

Therefore I may be the only satisfied owner of a TDV6, or I may be wrong and the previous owner had it re-mapped.

Hi Guys, Sorry about the delay in my response, but due to lots of work and trying to have some sort of social life. after work I just haven't had the chance but here I'am to explain hopefully answer you questions.


We as a company feel the reason, as to why the manufactures do not come up with the results we do, straight from the vehicle leaving the factory, is that vehicles are made with regional settings within the ECU, so for example. If you are to provide the stats that remain within the owners manual, they need to perfom within the manufactures result brackets globaly. i.e if you where to buy a vehicle in Hong Kong, or buy a vehicle in the antartic, it would still preform the same. Therefore due to our climate throughout Europe we can change the setting and maps within the ECU to gain our performance results. One thing is that air is alot colder here, which means it is more dense than warm air. As regards your warranty, main dealers only have the equipment, and knowhow to write upgrades and setting files to the ECU, not read the files within the ECU, therefore warranty would not normally be effected. May you be totally not 100% confident in taking the car back for warranty work, we do offer a service whereby, we can put back the old map before you take it for any work.
