Esp. when fitted on a black car - the after market ones dont look as good - no matter which company you opt to do the work.

Aftermarket Privacy Glass = Shows up the heated elements etc

Factory Fitted PG = much better look

Hi,

I have an S spec tdv6 auto coming on 15th Sept. It was/is a very good deal for contract hire. All I requested as an extra was the leather trim, so I presume this will be the same car you are looking at. If you give me a PM next week I will answer any questions you might have and give you an honest opinion on it.

Thumbs Up

Ireland 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Stornoway Grey

Hi andi,

I've an 'S' model, since january this year. Things I miss over the higher specs is the sat nav & leather interior. Although I knew I wasn't getting sat nav, I still thought I would get a screen over the radio for diagnostics, info, etc - but you don't get that on the S model. Its just a void for holding all my diesel reciepts!!! Also, on the s model, the aux input isn't connected to the radio, but I think its an easy enough job to do afterwards. 2 things I would definitley recommend getting is the bluetooth pti & the privacy glass (which I don't have).

thanx for the info i though thje diagnostics screen above the radio was standard on all models (well acccording to the brochure) think i need to speak with landrover and have a good look around a tdv6 s model before i order for sure. I know this can be dificult though as they generally keep se and hse for demo`s Neutral

Let me know how you get on, and if you get a diagnostic screen. I'll have to go back and have a word with my dealer if you do Evil or Very Mad

I was the same when I bought, the dealers only had HSE's in stock, so I was pretty much just going by the sales brochures.

My 'S' is here, as soon as I can I will post some pics. The alpaca/java combo is very nice indeed. Had privacy glass and new wheels (HSE 19") put on myself but other than that nothing added, the base model is a fine car as it is, and a bit of a bargain IMHO, you wouldnt be dissapointed.

In times gone by the S has always been the poor relation to the rest of the range - but in MY08 guise the spec is higher, but in reality it is still missing the things that are expected on a car of this calibre - SatNav and PTI are really things people will want (it isn't just a case of adding the roof aerial, as you mentioned earlier Andi)....

If I was you, I'd see if I could stretch to an SE at least... on a contract hire basis, the monthlies shouldn't be hugely different I wouldn't have said but that is Kam's arena Thumbs Up

i have been two the dealers seen the two vehicles side by side and looked into it further and im now waying up the options the main difference between the se and the s are:-

*leather (but saying majority of the lease deals on the s model come with leather upgrade in any case so not an issue)

*Alloys are really small on the s - But i was planning on changing these to 20" stormers in any case (whether i bought s or se so again not an issue)

*flip in mirrors - (not fitted to the s model)

*rear park sensors (not fitted to the s model)#

*missing the clear view pack (dip rear mirror, front fog, hreadlamp power washer, rain sensor) £550 upgrade -to add to the s - this is a must have for me!

*Sat nav and central sceen - Not fitted to the s model

Tbh im not fussed about the sat nav, flip in mirrors or parking sensors and so its swinging towards the s model with leather and clear view pack upgrades, the only main thing i will be missing over the se model this way is the sat nav and the flip in mirrors both which im not really two concerned about as im saving around £125-£150 a month roughly on the contract hire.

I have pm`d kam for some quotes to compare the s a nd se models so i can see the monthly difference i price but havent herd from him yet.

andi Very Happy
