Tint touch up

I have a small scrath on my non-factory tinted windows. Is there a product to repair the scratch? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA,

Your best bet may be to contact the firm that did the tinting re the repair. I suspect it may need redoing on that window. That's the downside to film applied tints.

However, they are slightly more secure than standard glass as the film holds the glass together if someone tries to smash it. L319 D4 HSE

Interesting this, as I just noticed this morning a scratch on the inside of my factory-tinted tailgate window!!! One of the kids bikes, stashed in the boot, caused the scratch; even more worrying that it was the plastic/rubber grip on the handlebar that did it and not metal on glass. The side windows are tinted glass but it seems the tailgate has an applied film - I checked it this morning and couldn't believe my own eyes - what a rip-off! Evil or Very Mad RRS TDV6 (gone)

Yes, I've spotted that the rear hatch glass is film tinted. Not sure why it wouldn't be tinted glass like the side windows? OK, so there's a heating element running through it, but that shouldn't make any odds I wouldn't have thought.... they can get the diversity aerial into the side panel at the rear after all!

Thanks MDP, I had almost forgotten that LR still know how to let the customer down with some shoddy workmanship. I remember my first Disco in 1993, bits used to fall out/off, some while driving cross-country, others while on the road. The lock on the glove compartment fell off, the whole dashboard cover curled up (same in the Disco 2) around the air vents for the windscreen, the rear view mirror dropped off etc etc. I don't even want to start listing the mechanical crap that happened

Glad to know they're still consistent. Thud RRS TDV6 (gone)
