I've been in similar discussion before but no-one seems to know what the insurance implications are. Sorry to be ultra-boring, extra performance will b e great but when I write it off round a tree on a country lane and the inspectors have a look at it will I get a pay out? Sponsor or not, what's your view? Jaguar XKR Convertible

Jonathan - its pretty straight forward - just tell your insurance company and make sure your covered - if they wont cover, or want a big premium increase then move elsewhere |

On my TDV6 they charged me about £80 to £100 per year extra for the increase bhp. Peanuts compared to them finding out later. TDV6 - gone

Yup - each insurance company will have their own different view of chipping and how much extra risk they allot to it. It's not a question for the chipping company to answer, I don't think.

Well, guess you're all right. IF I get it done (will need some persuasion that the performance improvements are significant enough) then I'll inform the insurer and take the hit.
